The Move - Part I

Does it count as part of the Travel Diaries when it is actually changing homes?

Friday, July 2

I’ve been looking forward to this trip for a long time. I’ve not been to Powell River for several months, and this time we can call the whole house “ours”.

Even with just a few of our things I love this place already.

It was fun to spend the evening planning out where we might be able to place our furniture.

We watched the sun set from our chairs on the upstairs deck.

Saturday, July 3

We were up and organized early as we were expecting the moving truck with all our boxes from the storage unit. The boxes held the things we removed from our Port Coquitlam house when it was staged for selling. The truck left about 2 PM and we spent the rest of the day unpacking.

We turned this ....

into this ...

Sunday, July 4

No matter where I look I have a beautiful view.

From the upstairs bedroom.

From the window above the kitchen sink.

Out the back door.

Maybe combining my craft room, sewing room and office into one room will be harder than I thought.

Pat has already named my space my Play & Work Room (I’m hoping there will be more playing than working going on). Never fear - I have a vision.

We went out for breakfast and then went shopping. It was our lucky day as we found two lovely chairs for the deck and I got the push mower that I wanted. Pat put one of the chairs together and I tackled the lawn mower, Once the mower was put together I did a little test run on the lawn – I'm going to have to work on getting the lines straight. I sat down to read before it was time to go to the airport, but I didn’t even open my book – I spent the entire time just watching the comings and goings on the water.
