It’s a Wrap

I loved this skein of yarn – both the colours and the knitting pattern that came with it. The finished product – not so much.

I could hardly wait to get to the first colour change. Rather than a gradual move from one colour to the other the shades were just knotted together.

The pattern was interesting in the beginning but rather boring by the time it was finished.

I’m not sure I like the asymmetrical look of the shawl, but it was always intended as a donation so I don’t have to think about how to wrap and wear it.

More shawls for donation

When I put the shawls from yesterday away I came across two more that hadn’t been recorded.

I love how colourful this shawl is, and I also like the pattern (Seafoam Shawl). The yarn is left-over from three different pairs of socks.

I’ve used this pattern many times (Painswick Wrap). As I was using up left-over yarn it isn’t as long as the pattern indicates it should be, but it is big enough.

Shawls for donation

This is my year to attempt to use up my sock yarn. This shawl used up a substantial amount of it. I love the lacy look of it and the border finishes it off nicely.

Whenever I’m in Saskatoon Kathryn and I try to spend some time at a Michael’s store. Although it doesn’t show well in the photos there is a shiny thread that runs through the yarn. The pattern they gave to go along with the yarn was complicated and, since I was on holiday, I decided to make a simple triangular shawl.
