Sue Leon gave me a gift certificate from Traditional Pastimes at my retirement party in Calgary in September 2010. The following December we were in Calgary for Christmas and Pat and I went shopping.
Pat really liked this quilt and the salesperson said if I liked handwork I would love appliqué. Pat thought all the pieces were already cut but I knew better. I was persuaded to purchase the kit and the work began when Stacia, Deloise and I got together to quilt in the spring of 2011.

I finished the placement of the blocks when Stacia, Deloise and I again met late in 2012. With the quilt show approaching in March I worked very hard to get the quilt done for the show.

From the Quilt Show:
This is ‘Flowers From My Garden’ by Lori Smith with the fabric kit prepared by Traditional Pastimes in Calgary. I was talked into this project by an over-zealous salesperson and an over-confident partner. The flower blocks are hand appliqued and I machine quilted it using both stitch-in-the-ditch and free-motion techniques.
