A good project for today

Tuesday, May 17, 2016

I decided yesterday that I was going to skip the Guild bee today so I could talk to Staples about the recipe book. I worried all last night and was awake at four this morning. I had my alarm set for six so when 5:15 rolled around and I still hadn’t managed to get back to sleep I decided to get up. I connected with the Staples sales rep at six (9 AM in the East) and we’ve done some work and, hopefully, the problem will be resolved. I asked to review and proof a hard copy before they do a printing run and he agreed that was a good idea.

There was still a lot of “waiting around” and Pat could see I was getting more and more stressed. He suggested I should go and do something so I started work on a couple of gifts I wanted to make. It was the perfect project for today; not complicated, very straight quilting and a short binding. I’ll do the hand stitching tonight and they can get in the mail at the end of the week along with the last of the May birthday cards.

Next I’ll concentrate on getting the June cards done; because they will be from the Splendid Sampler series I decided I could clean up everything else in my sewing room. I cut up some scraps, I cut up some Leaders and Enders, I’ve put away extra fabric and I’ve put a couple of new projects into bins. My desk area needs a good sorting out and I’ll vacuum the floor but I’m hoping to keep it relatively tidy between now and when we leave.

I thought about taking a nap this afternoon but I think it is a bit too late in the day now for that. Early to bed instead.
