This shouldn’t have happened. My last quilting project for the Guild for the year was done. I updated web pages and got my project book pages done. It all started to go downhill when I went to get cards ready for the mail.
I make homemade envelopes because I can’t buy the right size for my cards. I had the pattern all sorted out and knew the exact postage I needed. The first card I was getting ready had a border and that meant it didn’t fit into the envelope I made and I knew the new envelope was going to require extra postage. That meant a trip to the post office but everything was sorted out before lunch.
When I came back from the post office I realized that it was dry enough to cut the grass – a job I told Pat I would do. I put on my runners and went out but Pat had already given the lawn a once-over. He said I could do the second pass and pick up the cuttings. While we were out working the phone rang but we let it go to the answering machine.
When we came in the message was from Staples saying that my Guild recipe books were in. We decided to go out for lunch before stopping and picking them up. While we were in the store I noticed they had a sale on their office chairs; Pat had been wanting to replace his so we did a bit of shopping.
Once we got home I took a look at the recipe books. I’m feeling sick because they are put together wrong. I tried to rearrange the pages thinking I could maybe fix it but I don’t think I’ll be able to. I called the sales rep but he is in the East so there won’t be any answer from him until tomorrow. I’m going to stay home from quilting until I can talk to him and see what we can do.
I have Ukulele Club tonight and I know that won’t make my day any better. It’s been two weeks since I was there, and I haven’t done much practicing since the last session.
I guess that’s the way some Mondays go!
