We watched the PBS series based on this book but, other than the opening scene, I didn’t remember any of the details. While the PBS series starred Kenneth Branagh, I tried very hard to imagine the Swedish Kurt Wallander as I read the book.

The reader knew who the killer was before the police did but I still was up late at night and early in the morning reading and enjoying the last pages.
