I quilted my stained glass wall hanging today. As I worked on it I thought it might be the worst job I’ve done on anything since I started quilting. Now that it is finished though I think it is okay – from a distance and without my glasses!
The quilting instructions from the class were few but at the retreat another classmate was working on her project (even though the class was three years ago). I saw what she did and copied her. What was supposed to be a simple stitch-in-the-ditch around the leading wasn’t so simple. In so many places I slipped out of the ditch and onto the leading. I used my black sharpie to hide those mistakes.
I remember when I first started quilting being told that washing the piece could hide a lot of problems. I’ll show this on Tuesday, get it crossed off my UFO list and then I might try that. Why wait? I’m afraid the colours will run and the project will be worse than it already is.
