A productive weekend | My Own Creations

I had a wonderful time on Mount Washington. I was very productive and I managed to keep to my schedule every day. Some days were longer and more difficult than others, but at least everything I took was worked on. Yes, the scenery was beautiful; the workspace was amazing; the women were such fun – but I didn’t get a single photo of any of it!

We didn’t start sewing until after noon on Friday so it was a short day for sewing. I finished up three Splendid Sampler blocks and three sets of Circa 2016 blocks.

Saturday I worked on my Farmer’s Wife Sampler. I have 76 (of the 112) blocks done. As I was laying the blocks out to take the photo I noticed that one of the blocks is smaller than the others so it will have to be redone.

Sunday was a long day because I had all sorts of trouble with my Celtic Crystals. I’ve decided that I’m dyslexic when it comes to looking at a picture and sewing a corner on in a particular direction. I sewed a couple of them twice over before getting it right. There are four more blocks to do in this series and there is a rather large centre medallion to complete as well.

On Monday we packed up for home but I had time for a bit of hand stitching. Since today was a bee day at the clubhouse (and I generally hand stitch there) I’ve combined the Blossom blocks from the weekend with the ones finished today. I have just one blossom left to stitch together before moving on to the next step.

In between all the major projects were a couple of smaller things. I used up all my Leader and Ender pieces and started attaching them to their alternate blocks. My Circa 2016 requires 120 half-square triangles (finished at 1.5 inches) so half of them are done. Well not quite, because I just realized that I cut them all at 1.5 inches so they are going to finish at one inch. Maybe I can still use them but just make more?

All that, and there was even a little time for shopping before catching the ferry home. There are a couple of extra purchases that I won’t show you as they are meant to be surprises!
