It was confirmed today that the Mount Washington retreat is a go. There isn’t a lot of planning or packing to do so hopefully the next two days will be enough to get my projects sorted out, groceries purchased, and some cleaning and oiling done on my machine. I hope to have as much cutting and packaging done as possible before we head out. I don’t cut well in a crowd; today proved that when I mis-cut the first block I was working on. I’ll package up more Farmer’s Wife blocks, a few of my Celtic Crystal blocks and get some squares cut for my Blossom quilt. I need to cut up a few more pieces for my Leader and Ender projects and that will be more than enough to keep me busy for the four days.
Our food, except for breakfast, is provided. I’ll purchase a few snacks and a bit of wine and beer; I also offered to bring the coffee as our organizer doesn’t drink coffee. Our bedding is provided but we need to take our own towels or else we pay an extra fee to use their’s. There aren’t too many of us this time around so we’ll each get our own room which will be nice; I can get up as early or stay up as late as I want without disturbing a roommate.
At the rate I was working today though I really don’t need to take many projects with me. I’ve dug out my Celtic Crystals blocks to start work on them; I think the last time I looked at them was at one of the Texada retreats. This project is on my Guild’s UFO Challenge; they won’t get done but I’m hopeful they might make it into the quilt show next spring. And along with any piecing there are always a few more blocks from my Leader and Ender project; the last time I counted I’m nowhere near the number of blocks I need.
We’re off to the movie tonight. Our Cinematheque series is finished but there are some good movies coming during the regular screenings.
