I’m sure it will be better from now on

I’ve been absent for several days but not because I haven’t been busy. There was an important Arts Council meeting today (four hours I’ll never get back) and I had to do a lot of prep work for it. That took all day Thursday and half a day Friday. Since I hadn’t checked for and paid bills on Thursday I carried that task over to Friday. Since the day was winding down by the time I finished, I decided to get busy on the Guild recipe book. That took the rest of the day Friday, all day Saturday and I’ve only just now finished it.

I did have a bit of fun too. Thursday night the Guild had a Trunk Show and drafting demo. Our resident “Bag Lady” showed over fifty of her bags – all sizes and shapes. I didn’t expect I’d want to make any of the bags but one in particular caught my eye. The drafting demo was very useful; if I can put it into practice I’ll be able to make blocks larger or smaller and even design a few of my own originals. It will be fun if I ever get at it.

More about that bag though. I went up to the fabric shop on Friday to get the fabric and the pattern. They didn’t have the pattern so I didn’t know how much fabric to purchase. Since they had lots of fabric on the bolt I decided to wait until next week when I can check out the bag lady’s pattern to see what I need. The shop will order the pattern for me; I’m in no hurry to make the bag I just wanted to be sure to get the fabric.

Saturday morning was the first Farmer’s Market of the season. I specifically wanted to find some rhubarb and we seldom visit the market without coming home with somebody’s freshly baked bread. I made a crisp for supper last night from half of the rhubarb I got; I’ll make stewed rhubarb with the rest.

I’m nearing completion on a knitting project and I’ll work on that tonight.
