I was working on my Farmer’s Wife Sampler blocks today. As I work through the pages in the book I make two blocks at a time; the stories that go with the blocks are laid out in pairs so doing them in pairs helps me keep track of where I am in the book. I had the Basket Weave block finished before breakfast, but it took until long after lunch to get the Gentleman’s Fancy block right.
I was happy that the next two blocks were relatively easy. Bat’s Wings was paper pieced (simple paper piecing for a change) and the Spool block was a combination of half-square triangles and cut squares all the same size with straight seams.
Whenever I get ten blocks completed I dig them all out and take a photo. I missed doing that when I finished the first 60, so here they are. I was a bit disappointed when I lay them out though because I really thought I was up to 70 completed. Oh well, I’ll get there eventually.
A day of piecing means a few more Leader and Ender blocks to add to the collection.
Pat is out tonight so I could take advantage of the time and continue sewing. On the other hand I could take advantage of the time to take control of the remote and catch up on a new season of Call the Midwife!
