Puttering

I didn’t plan to work on anything today and hence nothing was accomplished! I had a phone call shortly after I came up to my studio this morning; I was having problems with my login for one of the sites the Guild uses to advertise our events. I traded e-mails back and forth with their support guy last week but today he called me and we sorted it out.

I had an appointment at Lainey’s late this morning; she has opened an Etsy store and has a stock of wool felt and wool felt appliqué patterns. I found a wool felt appliqué project in an old magazine someone at the Guild was giving away, and I found a pattern on her website that I really wanted. I got the supplies for both projects today, and a few extras as well. It was nice to have a chat with her; Trevor was busy repainting the room they used as their store as they will eventually be selling their home.

After lunch, while I drank a cup of tea, I went through some old pattern books and magazines. There are rumours of a Stash Reduction Sale in April and I’m getting ready. I went through my pile of magazines and patterns a couple of years ago but it is always nice to have a second look before really passing them on. I found about half a dozen magazines that had patterns I decided I wanted to keep.

From there I went on to packing my projects for the bee tomorrow. And while I was at the cutting table I decided to power through some of my scraps – cutting them into regular-sized strips or squares. I have been storing scraps in one of Mum’s wicker baskets and it is down to about half-full now. I’ll be a long time getting it down to nothing, but once it is I can make use of the basket in other ways.

I did lots of ukulele practicing today. I missed a couple of days already this week so I made up for it today. I now have 7 songs I can strum along to; I wish I had a good singing voice because it would be more fun. I could sing better if I had a piano to keep me in tune but that would require an extra hand and I’ve not seen any on offer yet.

I started a new knitting project while I looked after the concession at yesterday’s Song Circle. I finished the borders on my Itty Bitty project – next up is some hand quilting on it.

For the rest of the afternoon I’ll get back to my scraps.
