What do I mean tomorrow? I’m sore already. I spent most of the day on my hands and knees sandwiching and pinning a quilt. I don’t have anywhere in my studio to lay large items out so the floor between the kitchen and living room is where I do my measuring, cutting, and pinning. It’s tile flooring and I find it hard on my knees and hips. I’ve already taken an ibuprofen and if I take another before bed I should be fine tomorrow. Stacia uses a spray rather than pins for her quilts and, had I had any spray, I would have tried it. I’ve seen videos where you can do the sandwiching and pinning in small portions on top of a table using a board or PVC piping. Pat and I are going to try that next time because I think the island in the kitchen is big enough for the majority of my quilts; we’ll both need to watch the video a few times first though.
We are going out to pick some frames for my new glasses this afternoon. We both have engagements tonight so we’ll have supper while we are out. Pat has a board meeting and I’ll be off to my ukulele lesson.
With my new task light I was able to sew just fine while we watched TV last night. I have all my Itty Bitty blocks stitched with sashing between and tonight I hope to get at least some of the sashing done between the rows. This project is going so quickly all of a sudden; up to now I’ve only worked on it for a few hours on our mini quilt meeting days. I’m going to hand quilt the piece so I’m still a long way from done. Having hand-pieced and hand-quilted a project I can say “been there, done that” and never have to do it again!
