I spoke too soon regarding my luck with the thread that I ran out of. Lainey’s website wasn’t up-to-date and she didn’t have the thread colour I needed to complete my Sticks and Stones chair cover. It was no big deal apparently because I used another of my variegated threads to finish off the quilting and you really can’t tell the difference. I got the binding attached and I’ll work at stitching it down tonight while we watch TV.
My next task was to pack up something for the bee tomorrow. I needed to cut a few more squares for my Leader and Ender project; when that was done it was the first project to go into my travel bag. I reloaded the Valentine’s miniature quilt that didn’t get started last week, as well as another miniature that hadn’t been started. I need some birthday cards for February so I found patterns, cut fabrics and stuck them in the bag. More than enough to fill my day tomorrow.
Carola came up for coffee this afternoon. I go to her house more often so today she came up so she could see all my in-progress projects. She even helped me decide on a backing for the Sticks and Stones table topper; she said the fabric I had picked was way too nice and she gave me an idea of what I could use it for instead. I actually had two cleared chairs in my craft area; we sat upstairs with our coffee and chatted about our knitting, crochet and other projects. The afternoon was almost gone before she left.
I had just enough time before supper to gather up a few patterns and fabrics for some small Valentine cards for my grandchildren – not a hope I will get at them but they will be ready when I’m ready!
