I slept late so it was a good thing I wasn’t planning to attend the Guild work bee today. I got all but a dozen Guild recipes entered into my computer application. The recipes don’t take long to enter but I have to convert and add the metric measurements to every ingredient. And, depending on the conversion table I use, the amounts all seem to be slightly different. I guess when you are down to an eighth of a teaspoon of something a little more or less won’t matter.
Today was the last day for the Galena Bay fabric store. I will miss the shop and, in particular, the help that Lainey and Trevor gave me with my projects. I bought a few more fabrics – some neutral fat quarters, some Valentine fabric and some black and white prints – and Lainey very generously gifted me some quilting templates and some fabric. Every day this week she has been lowering her prices but there are still things on her shelves. She will leave her online shop open until it is all gone; I honestly can’t think of another thing I would buy though.
I took a bottle of wine to them but when Lainey opened it she said they didn’t drink. She handed it back to me and asked me to think of her when I drank it; it was a more expensive bottle of wine than I ever buy for myself so I will enjoy it. From there I went to Safeway and picked up a few cookies, crackers, chocolates and cheese; they wrapped it all in a basket and I took it back up to the shop.
Pat has an event tomorrow and I offered to make cookies for it; that took the rest of the afternoon. I made Aunt Dorothy’s Oatmeal Cookies; I love Mum’s book because it is a lovely thought of the originator of the recipe when I make it.
I never did get back to my Guild recipes but maybe tomorrow.
