I finished my miniature quilt this morning; I guess it isn’t actually finished because I still need to stitch down the binding. It is in a bag with some thread and some Wonder Clips and I will take it with me to Victoria and really finish it.
I also intended to get two miniature blocks cut out and packaged to go with me to Victoria. I was behind in my Itty Bitty Block Quilt-Along and, since they are hand-pieced, I thought they would be good to take along. When I dug into my bin I realized I had one of the blocks (September’s) almost finished. The second block (October’s) called for paper-piecing; that would be awkward to travel with as I would need to take rulers and my rotary cutter. So I sat down and stitched them both. Now I’ll have to dig to find a couple of other projects to take; don’t worry I have lots to choose from!
I’ve found another class to take; more like another class to squeeze into my already busy November schedule. One of the quilt shops (not the one up the street) is holding a wool felt appliqué class. It is listed as a two-day event, but Lainey assures me that I can learn what I need to in one day and she’ll help me out with anything I need after that. Why only one day for me? I’m already booked for a Guild class on the second day of Lainey’s course.
We went to the afternoon movie today; it was odd coming out of the theatre into the daylight. These days we usually go in when it is almost-dark and come out in the dark. This is the first matinee we have been to since I started with the Red Cross. They only show afternoon movies during the art film series or, sometimes, over Christmas if it is a kids movie.
I got a good start on my new knitting project last night, and we got a good start on True Detective. I’ll continue with both tonight.
