Author: Frank Conroy

This was an easy read and I enjoyed all the characters. Nothing dramatic unfolds in the story but sometimes that is okay; as I moved from chapter to chapter I kept expecting something awful to happen.

We meet Claude at the beginning of the book; his home life is rather sad. He obviously has some musical talent though and the rest of the book follows Claude as he studies and performs with various teachers and mentors.
