It’s a blustery day on the West Coast – lots of wind and rain. I know it is still fall, but the past week has seen winter-like weather rather than our usual glorious fall days. In my studio I’ve been switching between holidays – Thanksgiving, Christmas and Hallowe’en.
I would have liked to have my tablecloth finished for our Thanksgiving dinner but that won’t happen; perhaps with a good day of sewing tomorrow it can be ready for Thanksgiving leftovers. I’m motivated to get it done in the next couple of days as it counts for one of the Guild’s UFO challenges. If I can present it on a Tuesday there is a smaller crowd than if I take it to a Guild meeting; I’m not overly proud of how it turned out so a smaller audience is a good thing.
Last night I dug out my Christmas fabrics to do my Quick Quilt Saturday project. I thought this pattern would be something for my craft sale or, perhaps, even my Christmas “thing”. On the good news side the project was quick to finish; on the flip side of that the project didn’t work out. I may decide to fiddle with it to see if I can make it work, or I may just pitch it. I put a note out on the Facebook group describing my problem but no one has gotten back to me. Either no one else made it or they read something into the instructions that I missed.
Today I’ve been working on quilting my Hallowe’en projects. At the moment I’m experimenting with spider webs. Two of these projects will count as my miniatures so, again, there is motivation to get them ready for Tuesday’s Mimi Meez meeting.
The turkey is in the oven and smelling good. I’d better go baste it and peel some vegetables.
