Bee day

Tuesday, October 6, 2015

It was hard getting up this morning as we were out late last night. If it hadn’t been a sewing day I would have slept in a lot longer. I can’t say that at the end of the day I’m much further ahead than at the start, but it was nice to be working on something other than the tablecloth.

Oct 6_1My first task was finishing up my coil bowl. I’m okay with how it turned out but I doubt I would make another one. Wrapping the cord takes a long time so it isn’t something I could sell at my craft table (I don’t add in many dollars for labour but there are limits). I’m not particularly happy with where the coils ended; they are too close to the handle so the handle appears a bit “off”. Since I have no real purpose for it (but it does give me joy!) I’m not going to worry too much about it.

Sep 29_1Oct 6_2When my Hallowe’en project hung at the Guild business meeting I wasn’t pleased with the fabric I used for the border. So I took it off and added something different, which I like much better. What do you think?

Oct 6_3My next big project (at least the next big project that I haven’t started) calls for some curved piecing. I’ve never done curves so I started a new Hallowe’en project that uses them. I only had time to sew one seam, but it wasn’t as difficult as I thought it would be. Of course this could just be beginner’s luck and the next three will be awful.
