It was hard getting up this morning as we were out late last night. If it hadn’t been a sewing day I would have slept in a lot longer. I can’t say that at the end of the day I’m much further ahead than at the start, but it was nice to be working on something other than the tablecloth.
My first task was finishing up my coil bowl. I’m okay with how it turned out but I doubt I would make another one. Wrapping the cord takes a long time so it isn’t something I could sell at my craft table (I don’t add in many dollars for labour but there are limits). I’m not particularly happy with where the coils ended; they are too close to the handle so the handle appears a bit “off”. Since I have no real purpose for it (but it does give me joy!) I’m not going to worry too much about it.
When my Hallowe’en project hung at the Guild business meeting I wasn’t pleased with the fabric I used for the border. So I took it off and added something different, which I like much better. What do you think?
My next big project (at least the next big project that I haven’t started) calls for some curved piecing. I’ve never done curves so I started a new Hallowe’en project that uses them. I only had time to sew one seam, but it wasn’t as difficult as I thought it would be. Of course this could just be beginner’s luck and the next three will be awful.
