Call me crazy

Monday, September 28, 2015

Pat had an early teaching time this morning – 5:30 AM. I got up at five just to be sure he was up and awake and then I went back to bed. By starting early he finished at 1:30 PM; I guess it is worth it if you are being paid.

I started work on my tablecloth today. My first block was a proof-of-concept exercise and the concept was good. Unfortunately one of the threads I used just wasn’t right. I ripped that part out, found a new colour and decided it was perfect; the new thread means I need to change my needle when I do those parts though.

The first block took me five hours, not counting the time I spent tying in ends. There are 12 blocks in the piece – once you do the math you know I am crazy (maybe certifiable)! Woe to the person who spills a drop of anything on this once I have it on my table. I’m hoping that as I move around the quilt I’ll get a bit faster; I’ve already found a way to eliminate one end that needs to be tied in.

We’re off to the movies tonight. During the Art Film series we don’t often see another movie during the week but this is one that we thought would be good. It’s cheap night ($5.50) although now that we are seniors every night is cheap night.
