Ready to quilt

Sunday, September 27, 2015

I spent most of the morning on my hands and knees – rather fitting I guess for a Sunday morning. I have my tablecloth sandwiched and ready for quilting. Once that was done I came upstairs and did a bit of doodling on a photo of the quilt and have decided on my quilting pattern. As always, I have opted for more straight-line stitching. I’ve put flannel between the layers so I’m not sure what that will be like for quilting – I guess I’ll find out tomorrow.

I originally intended to start quilting this afternoon but felt I had done enough for the day so I switched to some cross stitching. If I get it finished, I’ll offer the piece for sale. In the meantime I’m enjoying the relaxation I always feel when I hand stitch.

We’re off to a coffee house at Cranberry Hall tonight. Pat is working and I’ve been back and forth all day as to whether or not I would go. The music isn’t always good, and we have to go so early; I hate sitting around and waiting. That might not be a problem tonight though since they are short of people to work the door and the concession so I may be roped into a job.
