I woke up this morning already stressed by everything I had to do. “Had to do” is my own term because nothing on my list was really critical, but in my mind it had to get done. I had my tea and toast and decided I’d try to find a spare for my Red Cross shift; of course it was too early to call anyone but when I did call at nine I was able to get someone with only two calls. Then I headed off to my Guild Library meeting. After waiting an hour for the woman with the key to the library to appear we gave up and I came home. I tried not to be too angry after spending all day yesterday working on the listings; I guess you can say I’m ahead for next week.
I took a look at the things I wanted to get done, and the length of time I had before my trip, and I started prioritizing projects. Many of the September cards are going to be late and one project that I wanted done (but hadn’t started) has been completely removed. I made great progress on Elizabeth’s House and it was ready for binding (which I haven’t made yet) by the time I stopped for lunch. I’ve made good progress on my Family Place quilt. I originally planned to use a template for some of the blocks but free-motion is so much faster that I decided on a simple looping pattern. That part is finished now and I’ll move on to some straight-line quilting; that entails a lot of threads to be knotted and tied in but that’s just the way it works.
I planned to do some shopping after my Red Cross shift, so I may wrap things up in my studio and head out now.
