Not the day I wanted

I fully intended to take a break from my (Elizabeth’s) quilt so I could work on some much-needed cards today. I have a Guild Library committee meeting tomorrow morning and I knew I had some work to do so I decided to get that out of the way first.

I can’t believe that it took all day! I’ve just finished all I intend to do for the meeting tomorrow, but no doubt next week I’ll be assigned another batch of homework. The biggest problem was in assigning categories to the books; we started with twenty categories that we all agreed on (well mostly is was the other two committee members that made the choices) but as we went through the books all sorts of other categories were creeping in. I managed to get all of the books listed under the original 20 categories, but I expect at least one of the committee members won’t be happy with my decisions.

Next on my list was to find (or make) stickers for each of the categories that could be put on the backs of the books. I bought some little round coloured circles at the dollar store last week but when I opened the package they only contained four different colours. I stopped at Staples and found some larger circles but the packages were almost $6 each. So I went back to the dollar store and got some stickers – Canadian flags, school reward stickers, and some nice shiny shapes. If the committee don’t like them I’m sure my grandchildren will! Once I got home I printed off all the sheets for all of the different categories.

As the day progressed I told myself I would work on cards this evening, but I may just take a break and veg for the night.
