It’s a start

I was able to get two loads of laundry out on the line today; the first load was dry by noon so I went ahead with a second load. The last I checked it too was almost dry; we have had a hot day with a breeze and that makes a big difference.

We have musicians coming on the weekend so the house was due for a good cleaning. My goal was to start on the back step and then get the laundry room done. Mission accomplished – and more!

After our week at the beach a lot of stuff had been moved onto the deck to be dealt with later. That pile was increasing as the days went by and we found more things in our vehicles. I sorted out the cans and bottles, and then sorted out the recycle bags. Pat and I both had some errands to do so we combined the trips and went together. We stopped first at the bottle depot (almost $10 worth that we put towards buying our garbage tags) and then we unloaded at the recycle centre. I made a quick trip to the bank while Pat headed to the grocery store; I had hoped to avoid the grocery shop but Pat had barely started by the time I met him at Safeway. We made one last stop on the way home – Pat went to Staples and I went to the mail box in the mall.

I got the back step swept and the laundry room put back together before stopping for a bit of stitching. I intended to come up to my studio but I realized that what I needed to do (sandwich a quilt) required the kitchen floor and the kitchen floor required a wash. So I did a bit of embroidery and then moved on to a kitchen clean up. There were a few spots that needed a bit of extra attention and I gave them that today. In our house there will always be clean up to do, but at least I’ve made a start on getting it company-ready.

I hemmed my curtains last night so I’ll be back to crocheting tonight.
