I was up early this morning and had a few baby slippers stitched together before breakfast. These will be for the craft sale in the fall; I don’t know if they will sell but they were fun and easy to make and used up a few more bits of yarn from my stash. Some of them aren’t traditional baby colours – I don’t know if that will make them more marketable or not.
I was headed for the bee before nine. I got my appliqué pieces cut out but I didn’t have the placement sheet or photo so had to stop at that point. I’m just two sections away from being finished my embroidery; a couple more early mornings and I should be done.
There were lots of errands to run after I left the bee. I stopped at the post office outlet in the mall; Carola was with me and needed something at Walmart and it didn’t really matter where I got my envelope from. From there we stopped at the Service Canada office; I thought they would only be checking my passport photo and dropping the form in the mail but they start the processing right there. I won’t get my new passport until mid-September but I’m not headed anywhere that I’ll need more than my license as ID.
I didn’t check the time we left Service Canada but we headed directly to Galena Bay afterwards, and we were there until 4:30 (I figure we spent at least an hour and a half and a lot more money). There were a couple of Guild members in line ahead of us but when we got our turn I have to admit we took up a lot of Lainey’s time. I have a lovely bag of batiks – enough that I think I need a bin just to store them. I think once my embroidered quilt is together I can use that bin for batiks – another good reason for getting it done.
I have some curtains to hem so I may do that this evening rather than crochet.
