I’m surprised that after napping most of the day yesterday I still had a good sleep last night. I’m not feeling completely better, but at least I know I’ve caught a bug of some sort, or it was a relapse of what I had a week ago.
I was able to get some sewing done today. Since I had a card pattern sitting on my desktop I decided to make the top for it; it isn’t slated for anyone in particular but I know I have a lot of September birthdays coming up. I also picked out a pattern for the last of my August cards. I’ll take it to the bee tomorrow and get a start on it.
I sewed the borders on my Family Place quilt and then mitred the corners. I like the way mitred corners look but I still struggle a bit with them. I know I just need to practice more. I thought I had to piece the backing for the quilt so got busy with my corvette fabric and managed to match up the cars on the seam fairly closely. When I laid it all out though I saw that it didn’t need to be pieced after all. I know: measure twice and cut once – or in this case measure once and get on with it!
I’ve got a few things tucked away in my bag for tomorrow’s bee and I’ll do several errands on my way home. Some errands are more fun than others as I’ll be stopping in to check out the batik sale at Galena Bay. I’ll spend the rest of the afternoon with my embroidery and then move on to some crocheting tonight.
