I was finally able to spend some time sewing in my newly-arrange sewing studio. Everything works very well with the exception of my cutting table. I had hoped to switch my cutting to the desk I have behind my sewing machine; it is placed there for holding the weight of the quilt when I’m quilting. I was using a craft table in the other room for cutting but it isn’t as sturdy as I would like it to be. I hoped the desktop would work better. I love the sturdiness of the desktop, but it is just a bit too low. After cutting only one small card today my back is really sore. I’ve set up the craft table again; fortunately everything still fits into the sewing side of my studio.
The fabric shop up the street had a sale starting today so I picked up some fabric for a few projects and some “just because”. The Hallowe’en and Christmas fabrics were 15% off, there was a bin of 30% off fabric and just when I thought I was finished I found a 75% off bin. It is such fun going up there; Deb, the owner, is delightful and one of my favourite Tuesday people works for her on Wednesday.
Pat was given a couple of zucchini last week and I’ve been waiting for a time to make some loaves. It was much cooler today so I got them made after I came back from the fabric store. They smell so good I may risk spoiling my dinner and have a piece right now!
