We leave for Victoria on Friday and I’ve been writing a shopping list all week. Just when I’m sure the list is finished I think of something else I need. And yes, these are needs as opposed to wants; the wants list won’t happen until I’m actually in the shops.
I need some embroidery floss; I’ve not been using the exact colours suggested by the designer in Elizabeth’s House. Thanks to Mum’s collection I had shades of colour that I thought would work, but I’d like to get the suggested shades so I can see the differences. On the block I finished last night I didn’t follow her colour choices at all; my daisies are white not lilac, my tulips are burgundy not pink, my vase is brown not lilac. I picked my own colours because her suggestions didn’t match the fabric surrounding the section.
Of course there is a fabric list. I need backing (and maybe border) for my Fat Cats and Dogs (the new name for my 9″ square quilt). I also want to pick up some bright solids for my Seminole patterns; I have fat quarters of some nice shades but I need the width of fabric. Polka dot fabric has been on my mind and, if I buy some, I can use it for a couple of projects the Guild is doing for Family Place (the drop in centre where our BOND babies graduate to). My Best Press bottle is almost empty and I’m hoping to get a big bottle in one of the quilt shops.
Stacia and Deloise will be glad to know I’ve got an eye glass cord on my list – no more tying wool to the sides of my glasses and trying to make them stay attached around my neck!
