Stormy weather

Monday, June 1, 2015

It’s been breezy all day and this afternoon has turned out quite windy. I had clothes on the drying rack outside and they would have blown away had I not had them securely pegged down. We don’t often have a breeze during the day but it was nice to have the clothes dry so much faster. We really need the rain; friends were saying on the weekend that some wells are already drying up.

I decided to start my day by getting my projects ready for tomorrow’s bee. The set of placemats I worked on last week were still in my basket so that was easy. Then I decided I wanted to get my ten-less-an-inch blocks sewn together. I had to square up 60 of them and when that was done I had Pat help me arrange them. We weren’t very far into the process when he said we needed four more blocks. While he continued to rearrange I stitched the blocks he needed. Hopefully I have labeled everything well enough that I can stitch them together in the right order.

I was able to get a bit of embroidery work done this afternoon. I have about a day’s work left on this particular block. I don’t think all the blocks are this embroidery-intensive – at least I hope they aren’t. The good news is that I like the look of it.

We’re having a pot luck lunch at the bee tomorrow so I have to go out and get something. There is a whole list on the counter so it may take me awhile to do all the errands. Hopefully I can get back before the rain arrives.
