I wonder

It’s been a good day. The sun is shining and it is expected to be nice for another week. Pat moved the tomatoes outside today. They’ve been sitting in front of the open patio door for about a week so they would “harden up”. That doesn’t sound like a good thing for a tomato but I understand the process.

The smell of lilacs is in the air. Pat picked a bouquet a few days ago and, although we need a fresh one, the lovely scent fills the house. I just came in from outside and the smell of lilacs is out there as well. I don’t know if the aroma is coming from our tree or next door’s – it doesn’t matter because I love lilacs. I have geraniums (from last year’s plants) blossoming, the strawberries are in bloom and the fuchsias are leafing out from last year’s stocks.

I spent the morning upstairs and cleaned both sides of my studio. It didn’t take as long as I expected so I still had time to do a bit of Guild work; when I was going through my “stuff” for the meeting tonight I realized I was missing some reports. The reports had been written, I just didn’t print them off.

My Red Cross shift was long, but I was in a better mood for it today. Could that be because I was working on my own without any of the distractions, noise, and just plain nonsense I often have to deal with? I don’t mind a long shift but I like to be there on my own.

I have my Guild meeting tonight. I wonder if I have time to vacuum upstairs? More importantly, I wonder if I have the energy!
