I saw a pattern for a fabric butterfly and I wanted to give it a try. I’ve never had anything but bad luck doing origami so I’m not sure why I thought doing it with fabric would have a different result.

I felt the butterfly was recognizable so I attached it to a quilted block, stitched it in place and added a button.
