Thursday is my catch-up-on-paperwork opportunity and that took all of my free morning. I had a lot of posts to do for the Guild; some were left from the meeting last week and a lot dealt with things for the quilt show. I counted the sewing days I have before the show entries need to be handed in, and I think I’ll be in good shape. The embroidery on Elizabeth’s House won’t be done, but I can live with that. The quilting on Hubble probably won’t have been started, but I have a photo that was taken in Panorama when I finished the top. I hope that at the UFO weekend I’ll be able to finish three of the other pieces I have on my list; if time permits I may even get enough time to start quilting on some of them.
I had a list of things to do after my shift at the Red Cross, but I only made one stop. I had time before my shift to get a parcel mailed; had there not been work getting done on the road leading to home (and holding up traffic) I probably would have come straight home. I dropped off three bags of “stuff” at the Economy Shop and resisted the urge to have a look around. I keep taking things out the door but I never seem to have any more space. Why is that?
I have a Guild demo tonight on paper piecing using a freezer paper method. Apparently the technique means there is no tearing out paper when a block is finished, and you can re-use a pattern. I’ll be interested to see how it works when I get back to my Farmer’s Wife blocks.
I have a bit of time before I need to take a walk to 7 Eleven for milk so I think I’ll dig out one of the pieces of my crazy quilt project and see if I can do some fancy stitching on it. I may already have done some of the stitching; wouldn’t it be a lovely surprise to find that it is further along than I thought.
