Card games

You know what I’ve been doing all day – cards. I’m at the finishing stage for six cards. I admit I took a few shortcuts; I used a couple of orphan blocks on one card, and I used a square of novelty fabric for another.

As if I didn’t have enough to do before we leave, a book I had ordered from the library arrived today. Tracie highly recommended Wally Lamb’s We are Water. You never know when the books are going to arrive, but the timing is pretty good. I was awake for an hour or so in the middle of the night and I almost finished my current book. I had to wait a bit to check my book out so wandered over to the New Fiction shelf; Emma Donoghue’s new book was calling out to me. Before committing to it though I checked to be sure the Lamb wasn’t a one week loan; I can have it for a month so the Donoghue came home with me as well. Her book is only a one-week loan so I’ll get at it first.

I’m making some changes to my website and today I added a few cards that will be included in the new format (when I get around to it of course). While I was going over my list of cards I somehow missed a birthday because the reminder was set for 2015. Fortunately I still have time (just barely) to get a card done and in the mail. I hope I didn’t miss any other birthdays (and I also hope I didn’t already send a card but forgot to take a photo or keep the pattern)!

There is a bit of time before supper so I’ll get back to my cards.
