After the baskets were watered this morning I headed upstairs to my studio. I figured out a way to put the three parts of My Crazy Life together. It just happened to work out that I will be able to finish Part Two for the Guild windup, but leave the other two parts until it is time to submit my work for the quilt show. Since I didn’t have a card that needed to be done today I used that time to quilt the piece. I used bright coloured threads and a meander pattern but once I have all the embellishments on I don’t think much of the quilting will show (and that’s how I like it).
I had just finished my Farmer’s Wife block when Pat called me down so we could go to the Farmer’s Market. We looked for rhubarb at the store yesterday but didn’t find any but I was sure we’d be able to get some at the market. We usually go to the market on Saturday and realized today that there aren’t nearly as many vendors on Sunday. We didn’t find any rhubarb, but we each got a cinnamon bun for our efforts. We stopped at a different grocery store on the way home and picked up the rhubarb I needed for our strawberry rhubarb crisp. I hope it tastes as good as it smells.
With no project deadlines in the near future I decided to start something new; something small but not quite as quick as I expected. While sewing my leader and ender bits together I realized I needed something to store the pieces that were sewn. I had noticed a pattern in my e-mail yesterday for a small thread catcher and thought I would make it to use as a storage basket. I’ve made fabric baskets in the past but I gave them away and they were much more difficult than this one. It’s not done yet, but I can see how it is going to look and I think it will be perfect.
I’m ready to start the Jacob’s Ladder part of my afghan this evening. I didn’t understand the written instructions but I watched a couple of videos this morning and I think I’ll be okay.
