Author: Zora Neale Hurston

I saw this book on one of those lists that are published from time to time. I marked it as something I’d like to read and then, within a couple of weeks, I saw it appear on a different list. The book was written in 1937 but was more or less forgotten until Alice Walker revived interest in the book. It seemed a natural for Oprah’s Book Club but I never saw it listed as one of hers. The notes in the back of the book reveal that Oprah was Executive Producer of a movie based on the book, starring Halle Berry.
