Author: Clare Morrall
The main character in the book suffers from synaesthesia, a condition in which feelings are experienced as colours. I didn’t know that while I was reading the book because I didn’t read the book jacket. In fact I picked this book from my shelf based mainly on the title and the cover. The book was a finalist for the Man Booker prize and although the story is interesting, I felt like I was a spectator to a woman’s continuing descent into mental illness.
