Final two

Wednesday, April 9, 2014

I had an early start to the day. I had my breakfast, set out the garbage, played my games and checked my email all before the first ferry arrived at the dock. I finished up my final card for the month this morning. I should start on some of my early May cards, but they haven’t hit my reminder list yet so I’m going to ignore them for now.

Next up are a couple of projects that I’ve had for over a year; I have been hesitating to start them. I have a pattern but the piece is done with felt, a fabric I haven’t worked with since my days of teaching Sunday School. In spite of having a pattern, I need to be much more artistic and creative than I am in my normal life. I’m definitely out of my comfort zone, but so far I think I’ve been successful.

It sounds like I should be more than ready for my trip, but the truth is I still feel quite pressured. I keep finding things I should have sent in my sewing boxes and as I add something to my suitcase list I fear everything may not fit. I still have to get our income tax papers sorted and sent to the accountant. Once all the hubbub about the security problems on the Canada Revenue site has abated, I need to file my GST report. There will be bills to pay before I leave, and I want to have time to clean up my studio rooms. There are birthday gifts to buy and one birthday to celebrate!

So, for now, coffee break is over and I’m headed back to my projects.
