I’ve mentioned before that I always pack several project to the bee. Usually I fail to complete even one of the things I take but today the gods were smiling, and three out of four tasks were done.
The morning didn’t start off well. I was making a pillowcase to match the Wonky Stars quilt. I’ve only made the pattern twice, once for Madison and once for Emma, but I recall it was very simple. I couldn’t find the pattern I had used, but I found one online that was pretty similar. One of the other quilters was also making pillowcases and she had the original pattern. I was a step ahead of Dayle because I had my fabric pre-cut. For every mistake I made she was aware of the danger ahead and was able to avoid it. My biggest problem was making the French seams. Perhaps it was the April Fool’s bug that was causing the problem because by the time lunch was over (and the pillowcase was done) the sewing went very well.
My second project was an Easter table runner – my own made-up pattern from a couple of things I saw online. Top completed and moving forward.
Project three was a placemat and that top is almost complete. I say almost because I sewed a couple of pieces to the wrong end. I may take it apart and change the order, but since it is my own made-up pattern who would really know. The size is a little off so I may also add borders to it. But really, it is very close to a finish don’t you think?
The sun is shining so I may deal with some composting once I get the kitchen counters cleaned and the dishwasher unloaded.
