I was anxious to start my quilting this morning but, before I’d even finished my coffee, I had Guild members wanting photos of last night’s show. I couldn’t blame them. If they were there, it would be a brief review of the 98 quilts that were shown. And if they weren’t there they knew they had missed a special evening.
I sat in the front row for the show last night so I could get some photos. When I reached into my backpack for my camera it wasn’t there. I definitely went upstairs specifically to get it, but when I got home I discovered it had been left on the counter. Having run into a camera problem once before (I had the camera but the battery was in the charger at home) I had my phone with me. I can’t use it for calls because our plan has run out, but I can use it for photos and to tell me the time. I took over a hundred shots last night and I knew that getting them sorted, edited and posted would take some time.
Sadly it took all morning. Most of that time was trying to download the photos from the phone. I’d done it once before so I knew it was possible but I had no clue how I did it. I dug out the manual and it told me to download some software. Done! But the software wasn’t compatible with my newer Mac operating system so that wasn’t going to work. I gave up and asked Pat for help. He got as far as being able to pair with his machine using Bluetooth but the photos still weren’t downloading. By now we had both wasted way too much time so I came back upstairs to see if I could figure out the Bluetooth angle.
I found a freebie on the internet that would let me sync my contacts, but I needed the more expensive version ($50 US) to use it for photos. As I was searching for options on my phone all of a sudden one of the buttons I pushed started my photo program. I managed to get all my photos downloaded and I made a few notes of exactly what I did (well as exact as I can remember). Note to self – never leave home without your camera (and battery)!
It was noon before I had the Guild blog updated. After lunch I finally got back to quilting my Wonky Stars. I had dreams of finishing the stabilizing today but I don’t think I’ll get that far. I had a plan for the quilting but as I’m working on it I’ve thought of a couple of other “things” I might do. This is a large part of my problem – my mind and imagination are always several steps ahead of what my hands can accomplish.
This is my three-day weekend though so I still have hopes that I can finish the quilting before the Tuesday bee (when I’ll be back to my bag project).
