I spent most of yesterday’s sewing time working on two birthday cards. By the end of the day they were both finished, but I wasn’t happy with either of them. I think I’ve reached my limit on those coaster-sized cards.
Today I started work on something to replace those two cards, and spent most of my sewing time on them. I’m much happier with the results, and with a larger size I had more pattern choices. I was even able to practice a bit of free-motion quilting. And these small pieces work so much better for my level of quilting expertise.
One of the patterns needed a bit of hand stitching so I skipped my reading time and got to work. When I was finished I held the piece up (to admire my work) and noticed I had the buttons sewn on upside down. So I had to do those over again.
Our neighbour (at the back) held a get-together this afternoon. She wants all of the neighbour’s to get to know one another. She has been in her home for over 40 years and when she moved in she was friends with all her neighbour’s. There weren’t many of us (just Evangeline from next door) but it was nice to get to know Shirley a bit better. We’ve chatted about our yards, but never more than that (she has a beautiful yard).
I hope to be able to finish my socks tonight.
