As I look out the window, Harwood Island is nowhere to be seen, and neither is Texada. The day didn’t start out like that but as the sky got lighter it closed in more. There was freezing rain this morning. Pat had an early morning at the lab and found the roads quite icy. When I said I needed to go out to the post office he offered to drive me.
I did some more cleaning in my studio this morning. I rethought my method for sorting fabric and ended up rearranging my fabric drawers. I now have a drawer of solid colours, a drawer with florals, and a drawer with novelty prints and neutrals. My Christmas fabric is in a single bin, and all my projects are in bags or bins.
I got a couple of projects ready to take to the bee tomorrow. Both were ones I picked up from the Saskatoon quilt show. I also got together the bits and pieces I need for the Guild Christmas party next week. I was prepared with my gift and a couple of door prize items, but at the meeting last week we were told we are “doing it different” this year. I still need the gift, but no door prize. I need to take 25 buttons and 5 strips that are 2.5″ x wof (width of fabric) – no hint as to what they will be used for. It was while I was rearranging the fabric that I figured I may as well get the strips ready.
I managed to get in my two hours of reading again. I was very tempted to curl up with my book, but I knew that would only lead to napping.
