The singing mouse

I resented (just a little bit) having to go out today. On a day with nothing scheduled I like to stay at home. But I had to drop the gifts off at the BOND office, and I had a Guild deposit to make. I wasn’t out long though before I was glad I’d been forced out. The sun was shining, and the air was crisp – a great day for a drive.

I didn’t drive far – just south of town to the full service gas station. I needed to have the oil in the car checked and all the in-town stations are self serve. And boy did I need my oil checked! They added two litres of oil which I guess is a lot. I’ll be sure to check it more often in the future.

On the way home I wanted to stop at the University book store. I drove up the street and parked, thinking the university didn’t look as small as I remembered it. The university is as small as ever – I had stopped at the new elementary school. It was just a short walk from there to the university though.

I was sitting in the living room this afternoon working on my knitting project and enjoying the sunshine. About three o’clock the Christmas mouse warmed up enough to start singing. It brings a smile every time he sings!

I’ve had a pot of potato leek soup simmering all day. I’ll have a good supper and then an evening of knitting.
