What a lovely, lazy day

I didn’t have anything on my calendar for today so there was no need to get up early. Early as in 4:30 when I first woke up. I managed to stay in bed, dozing off and on, until almost eight. That’s sleeping late for me.

There were a few things I wanted to get done today. As usual, I got to less than half of them. Last weekend I made Beef and Barley soup and then had leftovers in the fridge for the first few days of the week. I managed dinner for a few nights but decided to make another pot of soup today. It is mainly carrot ginger, but a few extra veggies from the fridge went into the crock pot. It’s smells good and that is a good sign.

I brought my basket of Christmas gifts down from the studio this morning, but didn’t get at any wrapping. My pizza box needs to be done by Thursday, as well as my Meals on Wheels placemat. I have reminders about four cards that need to be done for December so I decided the parcels could wait a couple more days. I hate to admit that I really want the parcels in the mail because, as is my tradition, once the parcels are sent I can open my bottle of Amaretto! Although this year I may substitute Limoncello, or perhaps I’ll alternate. But first I have to get those parcels wrapped and sent.

For the rest of the day I worked on my English Paper Piecing project. I cut and basted three flowers, but when I looked at the background fabric in my pizza box there is only room for one flower. Bonus – I’m two flowers ahead for something else! I hope to finish up that project this evening.
