I had a few things I needed to get done today.
Before Pat left he set up the living room in preparation for the House Concert on Friday night. There are still a few things I need to do but, for the most part, I am able to work around the 30+ chairs we have set up. I hadn’t done my cleaning for the concert yet so I got started on that this morning. The vacuuming is done and the spare bed is made. I still need to do the dusting in both rooms, wash down the bathrooms, and mop up the kitchen floor. I have that on my list for tomorrow.
I’m thinking of Christmas already and by the look of our Christmas cactus it is time! I wanted to get my Advent Calendars in the mail so that meant finding boxes and containers to fit things into. I got them all wrapped and out to the post office shortly past lunch. I still have one to put together and I may find time to do that this afternoon.
The Guild demo tomorrow night is all about Crayon quilts. I’m looking forward to this as I think I’ll be able to use the method for better labels on my quilts. I needed to find and pre-wash some muslin. I also needed Crayola crayons and a fine black Sharpie. I have other crayons, but not the Crayola brand, and I have fine Sharpies in several colours, but not a black one. I picked those up at WalMart this afternoon. I still have to find some sort of picture to trace on my muslin. Since I’m planning on labels I’m hoping to find a stylized “S” that has room for some colour.
Almost a month ago we got new blinds for the living room and kitchen. We wanted to put one set of the “old” curtains on the back door, but they were all either way too long or way too short. I bought a curtain rod today and moved the curtains from my studio upstairs to the back door. I still need to hang up some of the “old” curtains in my studio but for now I’m welcoming the sun (but not the dirty window)!
There is still lots to do, and lots of afternoon left, and I’d better get to work at something; I’ve got a pair of mitts on the go, as well as a scarf if I don’t feel like tackling any of the “real” work.
