UFOs

My goal to finish one project a day for my Tickle Trunk was tested today. I finished the knitting on the piece last night, and it took me most of the day today to stitch it together. I really dislike that part of the project, but it had to be done. Once it was put together I washed and blocked it and it is drying. Once it is off the towels (and I’ve figured out a price) I’ll post a photo. I’ve been managing quite well at finishing up things, but my pile of UFOs is dwindling. That isn’t entirely true; the pile of UFOs that have a hope of being finished in a month is dwindling! When Carola visited she saw some of the blocks I bought at the recent craft supply sale and gave me a few ideas of things I could do with them. They aren’t my own UFOs, but if they work I’m not fussy!

I had to go out to do a few errands today. My first stop was the bank with a Guild deposit. Our friend Trent, who has had the new baby, was in today and the line-up worked so that I got him for my teller. We had a little chat, but of course couldn’t hold the line up unnecessarily. From there I crossed the street to Canadian Tire to buy a couple of bins for my craft sale pieces – a person can never have too many bins! With my trip to Calgary coming soon, not to mention winter, I stopped at Mark’s to get some long sleeved sweaters. I also made a stop at Staples, but wasn’t able to find what I wanted there. I did find our friend Geoff though so we had a little chat. Staples sent me to WalMart to find what I needed, and that led to a browse around the book store.

I was invited to a Come and Go tea at a fellow quilter’s this afternoon. I don’t know if there was any particular reason, but I think her birthday is around this time of year. Her daughters and their husbands (all from the Lower Mainland) were with her, but no mention was made of a special occasion. I took along a bouquet of dahlias just in case.

I hope to finish the Christmas quilting tonight – I’m prepared to stay up late just to get it done!
