A new project

I took three projects to the bee today. The first project was a quick little patchwork skirt for Taylor. I have a package to send to Dylan and I hate to send something to one grandchild and not the other (unless it is a birthday present). The pattern came from the internet and I thought it would be a breeze.

It wasn’t as quick as I thought it would be to sew 56 squares together, but that part was finished by lunchtime. I still thought by the end of the day the whole project could be wrapped up. I decided to line the skirt so that took a little extra time. And while I was stitching up the lining I thought, Why not make it a reversible skirt? Neither of those ideas were included in my online directions.

My first attempt at sewing the lining to the skirt wasn’t very successful. Even had I done it right I had no idea how I would make it reversible. Fortunately many of the ladies in the Guild sew clothes on a regular basis so I got some pointers from them. I still need to sew the lining and the skirt together (I did it backwards the first time), but if I keep at it for the rest of the day I may get it done before I forget the instructions!

Needless to say the other two projects weren’t even looked at.
