Pat flew out on the 6:55 AM flight to Vancouver so we were up early. I’m up and about early on most days, but I really don’t like waking up with an alarm. But with the cooler weather and the darker mornings, an alarm was a necessity today.
After the airport run and my coffee I headed up to my studio. I knew I didn’t have much time to play so I chose a small project to work on. It involves machine appliqué and, although I like the quickness and the cuteness of the finished product, I’m not fond of the technique. I made great progress though and have some hand stitching to do tonight to finish it up.
Today was my regular Red Cross shift, and you know how I’ve been feeling about that this month. It wasn’t too busy so I was able to get my inventory and data entry work finished within my shift. I had a couple of other volunteers visiting which is never a good thing, but the time did pass quickly.
Although we were under a heavy rainfall warning, it was relatively dry when I went into the hospital. When I came out the rains had arrived and I got soaked just running to the car. I planned to make a couple of stops on the way home but only made one of them – I’ll hope for better weather tomorrow. We actually need the rain, but I’m not enjoying this quick return to fall weather.
I’ll finish my day working on a project that I’ve been avoiding for far too long. I don’t think I’m going to be happy with the finished project but there is really no way to change it so I may as well just get it done.
Let’s hope I find something good to watch on NetFlix this evening!
