Hardly a day goes by that I don’t think about Dad. If I’m out walking and see pens or pencils on the side of the road I have to resist the urge to pick them up. I still have some of the pencils Dad retrieved from his walks! So many of the hikes we go on (and now 4×4 trips) I think about how much Dad would have enjoyed them. I remember how Dad passed his books by classic authors to me because no one else was interested. Without those books I never would have read Dickens, George Eliot and so many others. I had a wonderful childhood, and an adult life full of good memories of both my parents.
I’m so pleased that my grandchildren have such great Dads.
