I have just finished (almost) my last project before leaving tomorrow morning. I didn’t mean to leave it to the last minute. I started sewing it Saturday night but I was so tired I sewed more seams wrong than right! I decided there just wasn’t enough time for the project and gave up. But I couldn’t get it out of my mind so I’ve spent the afternoon on it and, except for hand stitching the binding, it is done.
I still have a couple of loads of laundry to finish drying. I hadn’t done the laundry associated with our musician guests last week and I didn’t want to come home to a huge pile of laundry so all the beds got stripped and the towels all got changed. I did the clothing first just in case I ran out of time. I had my sewing areas all tidied up last week but I’m afraid that cleaning didn’t last through the afternoon. A mess in my sewing room is easier to handle than an overflowing laundry hamper though.
I remembered to print my boarding passes a few minutes ago. Of course I haven’t started packing yet but I have piles in a couple of rooms of the house. I don’t like leaving it all to the last minute but I’ve done it enough times that it isn’t an unfamiliar feeling.
I’ll be on my way on the first ferry out tomorrow.
