I’d was interested in the idea of pixelated quilts but hadn’t got around to figuring out how they were done. When I saw these two patterns I knew this was where I would start.

When I finished the first two rows of Mario, I posted a photo and asked folks to guess who I was making. Gavin apparently took one look and guessed correctly, so this pair is heading to the Burtons’ home.

As a final touch, I appliquéd a coin on the Mario piece. Apparently the coin is very much a part of the Nintendo games.
